Assam Workshop II (Jorhat)

The Arsenic Network and Eco Concept collaborated with CSIR-NEIST (North East Institute of Science and Technology), formerly Regional Research Laboratory at Jorhat to organize a topical discussion on arsenic mitigation on 28th November 2014.

The objective of this discussion is to create a platform for exchange of ideas and knowledge among research scholars, scientists, government officials, doctors and community workers towards addressing the problem of arsenic contamination in Assam, with specific focus on the challenges faced by the Jorhat population, which has largely been identified as one of the worst arsenic affected districts in Assam. The discussion facilitated a conversation on the possible ways to identify and mitigate arsenic mitigation.

This discussion was the second one in the Discussion Series on Arsenic Contamination in Assam, with the aim to give a platform for the local community to voice their opinions and problems.
